Atalanta’s insistence on a €50m fee coupled with a ban on transfers within Serie A has left Lookman’s request for a move to Inter in limbo.

Overview

  • Ademola Lookman formally submitted a transfer request after reaching personal terms with Inter Milan and removing Atalanta content from his social channels.
  • In a lengthy Instagram statement, Lookman accused Atalanta of broken promises and poor treatment as he pressed for a summer exit.
  • Inter Milan’s two offers of €42m plus €3m in bonuses each were rejected as Atalanta hold firm on their €50m valuation and refuse to sell to a domestic rival.
  • Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi reiterated that Lookman can only depart for a top European club outside Serie A, in line with conditions he agreed.
  • Ultras group ‘Forever Atalanta until the end’ erected an anti-player banner at the training ground and Lookman was absent from pre-season sessions, further intensifying tensions.
