Overview
- An infant boy was left at a Bourgeoys Street home around 11 p.m. Sunday after the doorbell was rung and the person fled.
- Residents called 911 and responding police and paramedics provided care before transporting the baby to hospital.
- The newborn was swaddled with his umbilical cord still attached and is reported to be in good health.
- SPAL spokesperson Mélanie Mercille said the child was born at about 34 weeks and called the case unusual in her 17-year career.
- Investigators have not identified the person who left the baby and are asking neighbors to share any camera footage to help locate the parents.
