Long Island Woman Charged After 10 Dead Animals Found in Hoarded Home

Cazandra Nucci, 42, faces animal cruelty and drug-related charges after authorities discovered dead pets, mistreated animals, and hazardous living conditions in her condemned residence.

  • Authorities found 10 dead animals, including nine sugar gliders and a snake, along with 20 mistreated pets in a Long Island home filled with garbage and feces.
  • The home, described as unlivable, emitted noxious odors that caused personnel to gag and required them to navigate through six-foot piles of debris.
  • Rescued animals, including 11 sugar gliders and nine cats, will be put up for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter.
  • Drug paraphernalia, crack cocaine, and MDMA were also discovered during the search, leading to additional charges against Nucci.
