Long Island Woman, 70, Charged for Operating Illegal Dental Clinic in Kitchen

Prosecutors allege Serrano extracted five teeth from a patient, charged $1,950, and attempted to fit a dental bridge that never properly worked.
A search of Serrano's apartment uncovered a makeshift dental setup, including a chair near her kitchen sink, used instruments, dental molds, and expired medication vials.
Serrano, who is unlicensed in New York, pleaded not guilty to one count of unauthorized practice of a profession and has been released under electronic monitoring.
Authorities are seeking additional potential victims, as Serrano could face up to four years in prison if convicted, with her next court appearance scheduled for January 8, 2025.
