Long Island School Bus Driver Arrested for Child Sexual Abuse

Miguel Enrique Diaz, 47, faces charges for sexually abusing a young girl over a period from May 2022 to October 2023.

Miguel Enrique Diaz, a 47-year-old bus driver for Bay Shore Middle School and Brook Elementary School, has been charged with sexual abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
The abuse, which began when the victim was 12 years old, did not occur on school property or on the bus, according to authorities.
Diaz was arrested at his home in Bay Shore late Wednesday night following an investigation by Suffolk County Police.
The case came to light after a community therapist reported the incidents to the Special Victims Unit in early March.
Authorities are urging parents who believe their child may be a victim to contact the Suffolk County Police Department.
