  • The thief, posing as a buyer, inspected the watch and then locked himself in his car, speeding away with the Rolex.
  • In a desperate attempt to retrieve his watch, Mauro jumped onto the hood of the thief's moving car, but was thrown off as the car sped away.
  • The incident, which resulted in minor injuries to Mauro, was witnessed by a Nassau County Police officer on patrol.
  • The thief, who is still at large, is believed to be driving a gray Honda SUV with Connecticut plates.
