Seller Jumps on Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Retrieve Stolen Watch

Steve Mauro, a Long Island resident, was scammed out of an $8,000 Rolex watch he was selling on Facebook Marketplace.
The thief, posing as a buyer, inspected the watch and then locked himself in his car, speeding away with the Rolex.
In a desperate attempt to retrieve his watch, Mauro jumped onto the hood of the thief's moving car, but was thrown off as the car sped away.
The incident, which resulted in minor injuries to Mauro, was witnessed by a Nassau County Police officer on patrol.
The thief, who is still at large, is believed to be driving a gray Honda SUV with Connecticut plates.
