Investigators report a person of interest following release of store surveillance video.

Overview

  • Police identified the victim as Edeedson Cine, 23, who was stabbed behind the counter around 6:50–7:00 p.m. at the Lindenhurst CVS on East Montauk Highway and later pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital.
  • The attacker fled on foot and is described by Suffolk County police as a white man who appeared to be in his 40s.
  • Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina said the person of interest’s background suggests the individual was in the store for nefarious reasons, and he indicated he expected an arrest soon.
