Long Island Couple Pleads Guilty in Body-Parts Case, Accepts 22- and 11-Year Terms

A sealed forensic report prompted DVSJA mitigation for Jeffrey Mackey under New York law.

Overview

  • Jeffrey Mackey pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and admitted stabbing Malcolm Craig Brown and Donna Conneely inside their Amityville home in February 2024.
  • Alexis Nieves admitted striking Conneely with a meat tenderizer as Mackey choked her and pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
  • Body parts belonging to the victims were found over several days in Southards Pond Park in Babylon, wooded areas in West Babylon, and Bethpage State Park after teenagers discovered a severed arm.
  • Two other housemates, Steven Brown and Amanda Wallace, pleaded guilty in September to charges tied to dismembering and dumping the remains and to a knifepoint robbery the week before the killings.
  • Investigators cited surveillance footage, meat cleavers, butcher knives and large amounts of blood, and the court set Jan. 13 for sentencing as Mackey received DVSJA mitigation and Nieves waived any such claim.
