London to Donate Non-Ulez Compliant Vehicles to Ukraine

In a move to support Ukraine's humanitarian efforts, London's Mayor Sadiq Khan announces the donation of non-compliant vehicles, including ambulances, facilitated by changes to the Ulez scrappage scheme.

Sadiq Khan has announced that non-Ulez compliant vehicles, including 50 decommissioned ambulances, will be sent to Ukraine to support humanitarian and medical efforts.
The decision comes after Transport Secretary Mark Harper clarified that there was no legal barrier to donating the vehicles through the Ulez scrappage scheme.
Transport for London (TfL) will amend the scrappage scheme, allowing Londoners to donate their non-compliant vehicles in exchange for the same grant payment available for scrapping or retrofitting.
British-Ukrainian Aid (BUA) will facilitate the donation process, transferring the vehicles to Ukraine and reporting on the number of donated vehicles.
The initiative aims to support Ukraine's medical and humanitarian needs while also helping to remove old polluting vehicles from London's roads.
