Overview

• Kingston Crown Court sentenced Roksana Lecka, 22, after she admitted seven charges and was found guilty on 14 further counts of child cruelty.
• The offences took place between October 2023 and June 2024 at Riverside Nursery in Twickenham and Little Munchkins in Hounslow, and Riverside has since closed.
• Judge Sarah Plaschkes condemned “multiple acts of gratuitous violence” that left bruises and persistent red marks on infants, including a victim as young as about 10 months.
• Prosecutors reviewed more than 300 hours of internal CCTV showing Lecka pinching, slapping, and kicking babies, including repeatedly kicking one child in the face.
• Defense submissions cited her remorse, cannabis use and vaping, and a reported assault in custody, and reports say she could face lifetime restrictions on working with children.
