London Marathon Raises Record £73.5 Million for Charity

The 2024 event surpassed the previous world record, bringing the total raised since 1981 to over £1.3 billion.

Samaritans was the charity of the year, raising over £1.1 million, four times their usual annual amount from the marathon.
Macmillan Cancer Support raised more than £2.1 million from the event, highlighting the marathon's significant impact on their fundraising efforts.
A record 840,000 people applied for the 2025 marathon, which will take place on April 27.
