London Liverpool Street recorded 94.5 million passenger entries and exits between April 2023 and March 2024, maintaining its position as the UK’s busiest train station.
The Elizabeth line played a significant role in reshaping travel patterns, with six of the top ten busiest stations served by the line.
London Paddington and Tottenham Court Road ranked second and third, with 66.9 million and 64.2 million passengers respectively, both benefiting from the Elizabeth line's connectivity.
Birmingham New Street was the busiest station outside London, with 33.3 million passengers, followed by Manchester Piccadilly, Glasgow Central, Leeds, and Edinburgh Waverley.
Denton in Greater Manchester remained the quietest station, with just 54 recorded entries and exits for the year, despite a slight increase from the previous year.
