French swimmer Léon Marchand breaks multiple records in the 200m individual medley at the Shanghai World Cup, marking a triumphant return to competition.

Léon Marchand won the 200m individual medley at the Shanghai World Cup, setting a new European record with a time of 1'50''30.
Marchand had already broken the French record for the 200m medley during the preliminary heats earlier in the competition.
The 22-year-old swimmer also set a new French record in the 100m individual medley, surpassing the previous mark held by Florent Manaudou.
This competition marks Marchand's return to the pool after winning four gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Marchand will continue his Asian tour with upcoming World Cup events in Incheon, South Korea, and Singapore.
