- A school bus driver found the 2-year-old wandering on Taylor Street near Anderson Street on Jan. 15, deputies said.
- Deputies traced the child to a nearby apartment, conducted a welfare check, and reported unsecured guns, narcotics and poor conditions for a dog within children’s reach.
- After a search warrant was served, Dantion Green McGuire, 34, and Monae Myers, 36, were arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse, weapons offenses, drug possession while armed and animal cruelty.
- The pair were booked into the Central Detention Center and later released after posting bail; no charges had been filed as of Tuesday, according to court records.
- The Sheriff’s Department says the investigation is ongoing and is seeking tips, and officials have not disclosed who has custody of the children.
