Lokayukta Raids on Ex-MP PWD Chief Engineer Uncover Gold, Cash, Luxury Cars, 17 Tonnes of Honey

  • Lokayukta police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act after verified complaints and carried out approved, simultaneous searches on October 9–10.
  • Four locations linked to GP Mehra were searched: his Manipuram Colony home, his son’s Opal Regency flat, KT Industries in Govindpura, and a farmhouse in Saini village, Sohagpur.
  • Seizures included ₹8.79 lakh from the residence, ₹26 lakh from the flat, 2.649 kg of gold, 5.523 kg of silver, property and investment documents, and multiple luxury vehicles.
  • The Saini village property yielded 17 tonnes of honey, six tractors, high-value farm machinery, two fish farms, cowsheds, large ponds, a temple, and 32 under‑construction plus seven completed cottages.
  • Investigators are examining documents, digital records, and bank data to assess value and trace business links, including a PVC pipe unit reportedly tied to Mehra’s family.
