Logitech Issues Manual Patch After Expired Certificate Crippled Mac Accessory Apps

A lapsed Developer ID stopped both apps from running on macOS, forcing a download outside the in-app updater.

Overview

  • Logitech says an expired certificate caused Logi Options+ and Logitech G's G Hub to fail on macOS, disrupting custom buttons, gestures, and scrolling.
  • A fix is now available as a separate installer because the certificate problem also broke the apps' in-app updaters.
  • The patch supports macOS 26 Tahoe, 15 Sequoia, 14 Sonoma, and 13 Ventura, with updates for older macOS releases promised later.
  • User device settings, customizations, and profiles remain intact after installing the update, according to Logitech.
  • Windows was unaffected as macOS blocks apps without a valid Developer ID, and a Logitech spokesperson apologized for the "inexcusable mistake."
