Logan Opens First-in-Nation Remote Terminal in Framingham

Massport says the pilot lets select JetBlue and Delta travelers complete TSA screening while checking bags off-site, then board secure shuttles to Logan for a three-month evaluation.

Overview

  • The remote terminal at 19 Flutie Pass in Framingham lets passengers check bags, obtain boarding passes and finish full TSA screening before taking locked buses directly to ramp-side drop-offs at Logan.
  • The service is a limited pilot that currently accepts only JetBlue and Delta flyers with flights during set hours and will be monitored by Massport over the three-month trial to judge expansion.
  • Shuttles run hourly and carry about 55 passengers, tickets cost $9 one way and can be bought at LoganRemote.com up to 90 days or 90 minutes before a flight.
  • About 400 parking spaces are available at the Framingham site for $7 a day and children under 18 ride free with a ticketed family member.
  • Massport and private operators are using this test to measure demand, airport congestion relief and whether to add airlines, expand hours or copy the model at other Logan Express locations.
