Logan Circle Work to Start With Weekday Lane Closures Through May 19

Officials say the project prepares the Parkway for increased visitors during America’s 250th.

Overview

  • PennDOT says weekday construction runs from Dec. 1 to May 19 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., is weather dependent, and will cause delays.
  • The interior lane around Logan Circle, the left inbound lane on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and the left lane on 19th Street north of the circle will be closed.
  • Pedestrians will not be able to use the sidewalk around the circle or access the Swann Memorial Fountain during the work.
  • Crews will rebuild the 15‑foot‑wide outer sidewalk and install eight ADA curb ramps to improve access and safety.
  • The 101‑year‑old Swann Memorial Fountain remains partially inoperable after 2023 vandalism, with full restoration planned by May 2026.
