  • The finale in Stockton featured a welcome from Lord Lieutenant Dame Sue Snowdon, a brass band, a 4th Regiment Royal Artillery gun salute, and a 45‑minute public viewing stop.
  • Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, joined Friday’s opening leg from Shildon by boarding the historic-style carriage Experiment hauled by the replica.
  • After the run, the engine is being returned for inspection, cleaning and conservation work in Hopetown before a scheduled appearance at Hitachi’s Newton Aycliffe open day on October 4, with wider S&DR200 programming continuing.
