Overview

• The gunfire was reported just after noon in the 1000 block of 47th Street in San Diego's Chollas View neighborhood.
• Chollas Mead Elementary, Gompers Preparatory Academy, Millennial Tech Middle School and Horton Elementary were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
• Aerial footage from SkyFOX/KUSI showed a heavy police presence blocking the road near the scene around 2 p.m.
• Police confirmed the school lockdowns were lifted at about 2:30 p.m.
• Investigators released a suspect description and reported no arrests, saying they are searching for a Black man in his 30s or 40s, about 5'4" and 140 pounds, possibly with a ponytail, wearing a dark shirt and black pants, last seen leaving on an electric scooter.
