LNJP and Malviya Hospitals Win National Quality Certification

Officials say the NQAS awards validate years of hospital reforms, unlocking extra funding for upgraded diagnostics and patient services.

Overview

  • Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital and Pt Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital were conferred National Quality Assurance Standards certification on May 25, 2026, by the Union Health Ministry.
  • LNJP scored 95.89 percent and became the first 2,000‑bed government hospital to receive NQAS recognition while Malviya scored 96.72 percent in the multimodal assessment.
  • The certification reflected high component marks at LNJP across service provision, clinical care, infection control, patient privacy and ICU and dialysis services, and the hospital reported an 87.33 percent patient satisfaction score.
  • Delhi officials said NQAS status will bring direct financial benefits — an estimated additional Rs 2 crore a year plus a 15 percent Ayushman Bharat‑PMJAY incentive — and the health minister announced plans to add 14 MRI machines and more than 25 ultrasound units to government hospitals.
  • Authorities credited multi‑year reforms such as infection control protocols, scientific sanitisation, biomedical waste management, staff training and digital monitoring for the improvement, and they framed the awards as part of broader quality and hygiene drives under the Kayakalp initiative.
