Overview

  • Liverpool have commissioned a permanent sculpture at Anfield made from recycled fan tributes and composted floral gifts.
  • Jota’s No.20 squad number has been officially retired across all club levels and players will feature ‘Diogo J 20’ patches and ‘Forever 20’ emblems on their kits throughout the next season.
  • Supporters can pay to have ‘Diogo J. 20’ printed on their shirts with all profits directed to the LFC Foundation, which will launch a grassroots football programme in Jota’s name.
  • The club has established a temporary reflection area at Anfield and will compost flowers for use in flower beds across its sites as part of its sustainable tribute approach.
  • A fan-created mosaic and a minute’s silence have been scheduled for the Premier League opener at Anfield on August 15 to mark the start of the season.
