Liverpool Shooting Spree Suspect Charged

Leslie Garrett, former cinema security guard, to face court after assault rifle recovered from house

49-year-old Leslie Garrett has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, attempted robbery, and possession of ammunition without a certificate.
Garrett allegedly fired shots at three locations in Liverpool: a newsagent, a cinema, and a house, causing no reported injuries but leading to a lockdown at the cinema.
The assault rifle believed to have been used in the shootings was recovered from a house in Liverpool.
Garrett, who was arrested in Fazakerley, is reported to have previously worked as a security guard at the cinema where one of the shootings took place.
Garrett will appear at Liverpool magistrates’ court on Saturday.
