- Luis Díaz missed two of Liverpool's matches during his father's kidnapping, but returned to play in the English Premier League game against Luton on 5 November.
- After scoring a goal in stoppage time during the game, Díaz lifted his shirt to reveal a message reading 'freedom for papa'.
- Luis Díaz has now returned to Colombia to train with the national team ahead of its World Cup qualifier against Brazil.
