Liverpool appoint Schmadtke as new sporting director to overhaul squad

Liverpool have hired Jorg Schmadtke as their new sporting director on a short-term deal.
Schmadtke previously held similar positions at Wolfsburg, Cologne, Hannover and Alemannia Aachen.
Schmadtke will oversee all transfers for Liverpool and work with the football operations department to support Klopp.
Schmadtke will have to adapt to a different dynamic working under or beside Klopp, not above him.
