• Yonston Vazquez, 31, was booked into Santa Rita Jail on two counts of homicide after his return Wednesday night.
• Police say he was taken into custody in Mexico around 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 with assistance from the FBI.
• Jail records show he is being held without bail, with a plea hearing set for Oct. 29.
• The victims, Lizabeth Murillo-Rodriguez of Oakland and 21-year-old Christopher Vera of Hayward, were found shot inside a La Quinta Inn room on April 27, 2024.
• Investigators determined Vazquez knew one of the victims, but they have not released a motive.
