Live Ammunition Cartridge Discovered on Air India Flight from Dubai to Delhi

Authorities have launched an investigation after a live cartridge was found in a seat pocket following passenger disembarkation.

An Air India staff member found the live ammunition during routine cleaning of flight AI916 after its arrival from Dubai at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on October 27.
The discovery was reported to the Airport Police, and a First Information Report (FIR) was filed under the Arms Act.
This incident coincides with a wave of hoax bomb threats affecting over 510 flights in recent weeks, prompting new security guidelines from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee has been established to evaluate the seriousness of threats against airlines and airports.
Air India and other airlines have been targets of both genuine security concerns and numerous hoax threats, leading to heightened vigilance and protocol enforcement.
