LIV Golfer Harold Varner III Arrested for DWI in North Carolina

Varner, who recently won his first LIV Golf event, is due in court on January 19 after registering a BAC twice the legal limit.

Harold Varner III, professional golfer and LIV Golf player, was arrested for driving while impaired in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a blood alcohol content of .16, twice the legal limit.
Varner, who defected from the PGA to LIV Golf in 2022, has posted bond and is due to appear in court on January 19, 2024.
Despite never winning a PGA Tour event, Varner has had success in the LIV Golf league, claiming his first win in the Saudi-backed league at LIV Golf DC 2023 in May.
Varner, who was traded from Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats to Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces in early December, is on the roster for the upcoming 2024 LIV Golf season.
Varner's arrest comes after he publicly criticized his LIV peers and CEO Greg Norman for prioritizing financial gain over growing the game of golf.
