Overview
- Beginning in 2026, all regular-season LIV tournaments will be 72 holes over four days, with the individual stroke-play contest determining team scores as shotgun starts remain and the Team Championship format still to be announced.
- The league has expanded entry pathways by awarding two spots each from the Asian Tour’s International Series and the LIV Golf Promotions event, potentially lifting the roster to roughly 56 players with a 14th team under consideration.
- LIV Golf Promotions will run Jan. 8–11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, the first North American qualifier for the circuit, featuring four rounds with cuts after 18 and 36 holes.
- LIV’s July application for Official World Golf Ranking status is under review, a move seen as critical after players’ rankings plunged without points, including Dustin Johnson falling to No. 604.
- The PGA Tour warned of repercussions for members who enter the Florida qualifier without a release and said certain non-members would face a one-year ban, while LIV’s 2026 season is slated to open Feb. 4–7 in Riyadh.
