• Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed Litton Das sustained a Grade 1 strain to his left abdominal muscle and will miss the three T20Is in Sharjah.
• Jaker Ali, who led Bangladesh in their last two Asia Cup matches, has been retained as captain for the Afghanistan series.
• The Bangladesh Cricket Board named a largely unchanged T20I squad, with Soumya Sarkar the only addition after his recent domestic form and return from injury.
• The T20Is are scheduled for October 2, 3 and 5 in Sharjah, followed by ODIs on October 8, 11 and 14 in Abu Dhabi.
