Overview

  • The recall, announced June 18, covers five lots of 4-ounce bottles distributed nationwide from Dec. 14, 2022, through June 4, 2025.
  • Medtech Products Inc., a Prestige Consumer Healthcare subsidiary, initiated the voluntary recall after an FDA alert cited potential Bacillus cereus contamination and reduced product stability.
  • Bacillus cereus can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea within one to 16 hours of exposure, and high-level contact may be fatal, though no serious adverse events have been reported.
  • Impacted bottles bear lot numbers 0039 (11/2025), 0545 (01/2026), 0640 (02/2026), 0450 (05/2026) or 1198 (12/2026) on the amber bottle label and outer carton.
  • Medtech is offering full reimbursement for returned products and consumers can report any reactions through the FDA’s MedWatch program.
