Lisa Felicitas Mattheis Appointed Head of Saarland Cultural Foundation

The seasoned art historian will lead the foundation after months of vacancy, succeeding Andrea Jahn.

Lisa Felicitas Mattheis, a 39-year-old art historian from Kaiserslautern, has been named the new head of the Stiftung Saarländischer Kulturbesitz.
Mattheis brings extensive experience from roles at the Kunsthalle Mannheim, Sprengel Museum Hannover, and most recently as director at the Kunsthalle Emden.
She was selected through a multi-stage process, impressing with her vision for modern marketing and strengthening regional and international connections.
Her appointment follows the departure of Andrea Jahn, whose contract ended early due to differing views on the foundation's direction.
The foundation oversees key cultural institutions, including the Saarlandmuseum, the Museum for Prehistory and Early History, and the German Newspaper Museum.
