Despite trailing behind competitors Mo Rocca and Katie Nolan in the final round, Walter was the only player to correctly answer the Final Jeopardy clue, boosting her final score to $27,500.
ABC has been criticized by fans for inadvertently revealing Walter's win ahead of time, due to an ad announcing her as the guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Rocca and Nolan, who incorrectly answered the final clue, left with $1,100 and $0 respectively, but were awarded $250,000 and $100,000 for their chosen charities.
Walter's win was a surprise, as she had been trailing significantly behind her competitors before the final round.
