Overview
- A two-alarm electrical fire broke out around 8:15 a.m. in a tunnel adjacent to Grand Central Madison station.
 - More than 100 firefighters battled heavy smoke and zero visibility to extinguish the blaze after several hours.
 - Three firefighters and one civilian were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
 - LIRR service into and out of Grand Central Madison was suspended and trains were rerouted to Penn Station.
 - Officials expect to restore normal LIRR operations by the evening commute and have launched an investigation into the fire’s cause.
