- Taylor died on August 6 at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, his family and the Denver Broncos announced.
- He joined the inaugural 1960 Broncos after going undrafted in 1959 and led the AFL in receptions five times from 1960 to 1965.
- Taylor recorded 100 catches in 1961 and posted four 1,100-yard seasons, feats that stood out in the era’s pass-friendly AFL.
- He retired as Denver’s career leader with 543 receptions, 6,872 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns and finished his 10-year pro career with 567 catches for 7,195 yards and 45 TDs.
