The Icon of the Seas, the world's longest ship at 1,198 feet, was christened by Messi in a traditional ceremony intended to bring good luck to the vessel and its passengers.
Inter Miami's partnership with Royal Caribbean was celebrated with the jersey reveal and ship christening event, highlighting the connection between the Miami-based soccer team and the cruise line.
Messi and Inter Miami are set to leave for Saudi Arabia for a pair of matches as part of their international preseason tour, with a match against Al-Hilal on Jan. 29, and potentially against Cristiano Ronaldo's team, Al Nassr, on Feb. 1, if Ronaldo recovers from a calf injury.
