Overview

  • Cisco has donated its AGNTCY project to the Linux Foundation, and leading vendors Google Cloud, Dell Technologies, Oracle and Red Hat have joined as founding members.
  • AGNTCY delivers a full-stack framework including an open agent schema directory, cryptographic identity service, SLIM messaging protocol and observability SDKs for scalable multi-agent workflows.
  • The project interoperates with existing standards such as Google’s Agent2Agent and Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol to unify communication across diverse AI agents.
  • Stakeholders emphasize neutral, community-driven governance as essential to avoid fragmented vendor silos and foster broad adoption of agentic AI.
  • Next, Linux Foundation–led working groups will refine and integrate AGNTCY’s specifications, inviting wider industry participation in building an open Internet of Agents.
