Lindsey Vonn Tops St. Moritz Downhill Training as Olympic Push Accelerates

Overview

  • Vonn led the opening downhill training in St. Moritz with a 1:30.95 run on the Corviglia piste.
  • She finished 0.59 seconds ahead of Kajsa Vickhoff Lie and 0.71 ahead of Sofia Goggia, with Laura Gauche tied for third.
  • A second training run is scheduled Thursday, followed by downhills on Friday and Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.
  • The 41-year-old is targeting downhill, super-G and the team combined at the Feb. 6–22 Milan-Cortina Olympics, with selection dependent on coming World Cup results.
