Lincoln University President on Leave Amid Calls for Resignation Following VP's Suicide

Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey had accused President John Moseley of causing her 'harm and mental damage', leading to her tragic death.

Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey, Vice President of Student Affairs at Lincoln University in Missouri, tragically died by suicide, sparking calls for the university’s president, Dr. John Moseley, to resign.
Candia-Bailey had accused Moseley of causing her “enough harm and mental damage,” and her relationship with Moseley reportedly went 'downhill' after she assumed her position as VP in May 2023.
Emails emerged in which Candia-Bailey accused Moseley of ignoring her calls for help as she faced severe depression, anxiety, and harassment, and alleged that she was “intentionally harassed and bullied” after disclosing her mental illness to the university.
Lincoln University's National Alumni Association and other affiliates of the university, including students, are calling for Moseley to step down, with the hashtag #FireMoseley being used on social media.
Moseley, who has served as the 21st president of Lincoln University since January 2022, is now on paid administrative leave while a review is conducted.
