Overview
- The Municipality of Lince finished a full renovation of the 11-hectare Parque Ramón Castilla that removes physical barriers and improves public access.
- Upgrades include podotactile pathways for people with visual impairments, new ramps, widened pedestrian sidewalks, adapted rest areas, inclusive playgrounds, and upgraded lighting.
- The project added community facilities such as an outdoor gym, a sports complex, a municipal library, and an amphitheater to expand options for sport, culture, and recreation.
- The Ministry of Housing recognized the work and is encouraging Lince to enter the project into the Concurso de Buenas Prácticas en Accesibilidad Universal 2026.
- The municipality says it will maintain ongoing conservation of the park’s trees and green areas so the site serves both as an urban ecological reserve and a long-term public amenity, which could influence other Lima districts to adopt similar accessible design standards.
