Overview

• The live reading of the pilot took place Sept. 22 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.
• James Van Der Beek, sidelined by two stomach viruses, sent a pre-recorded message that introduced Lin-Manuel Miranda and thanked attendees.
• Original cast members including Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Busy Philipps and others reunited for the performance.
• Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly, and their children attended and joined the cast onstage for a sing-along of Paula Cole’s I Don’t Want to Wait.
• Proceeds were designated for F Cancer and to support Van Der Beek as he continues treatment following his stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis disclosed in 2024.
