Limousine Bus From Kansai Airport Hits Building in Kobe, Injuring Several

  • The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m. local time on a national road in Onohama-cho, Chuo Ward, near the port about 1 kilometer south of JR Sannomiya Station.
  • The Hanshin Bus service was en route from Kansai International Airport to Kobe Sannomiya with 14 passengers on board.
  • Authorities reported that five people, including the driver, were transported to hospital, and separate reports indicated a total of nine people sustained injuries.
  • All those injured were reported to be conscious, and early assessments did not indicate life-threatening conditions.
  • The bus mounted a sidewalk and struck a building identified in reports as belonging to an inspection company, and Hyogo Prefectural Police are examining the cause and circumstances.
