Lima Unveils 491st Anniversary Schedule, Confirms Free ‘Serenata a Lima’ Lineup

The government has not declared January 17–18 holidays, meaning regular work schedules apply.

  • The Metropolitan Municipality published a multi-day program for January 15–18 featuring protocol ceremonies, cultural fairs and sporting events at venues including the Plaza de Armas, Alameda Chabuca Granda and the Circuito Mágico del Agua.
  • Saturday’s Serenata a Lima in the Plaza de Armas is free and will feature Mauricio Mesones, Hermanos Yaipén, La Única Tropical, Grupo Río, Orquesta Bembé, Pelo D’Ambrosio, Marco Romero, Diosdado Gaitán Castro and Raíces de Jauja.
  • A detailed timetable sets afternoon displays such as Caballos de Paso and a gran pasacalle, with Mauricio Mesones near midnight followed by fireworks and Hermanos Yaipén closing in the early morning.
  • The concert is organized by the municipality with APDAYC licensing and open entry for the public.
  • Sunday’s central day includes the Lima Corre 10K at the Circuito Mágico del Agua, the Clásico Ciudad de Lima in the afternoon and a Gala Concert at night.
