Lima Opens First Stage of Túpac Amaru Avenue Rehabilitation in Comas

The rollout follows a separate Miguel Grau renovation days earlier in San Martín de Porres.

Overview

  • The municipality inaugurated the stretch from Óvalo Naranjal to Avenida Revolución after roughly a year of works as part of a 7.3 km intervention exceeding S/100 million.
  • EMAPE reports rebuilt lanes and sidewalks with retaining walls, inclusive ramps, berms, new traffic signals, modern signage, and urban furniture.
  • Sixty public transport stops were remodeled, including Metropolitano stations, to strengthen integration across north Lima routes.
  • The project adds a green component with more than 8,000 ornamental plants, 32,000 m² of groundcover, and 113 tipa trees.
  • The south-to-north stage is under execution and, according to the municipality, will be delivered soon, with officials saying the corridor will benefit hundreds of thousands of residents.
