Overview
- INEI reported Lima Metropolitana’s consumer prices rose 1.51% in 2025, within the BCRP’s 1%–3% target and below most market expectations.
- In December, CPI increased 0.24% in Lima and 0.21% nationally, with a 6.22% jump in dressed chicken and stronger transport demand shaping the monthly uptick.
- The largest annual gains were in Education (4.03%) and Restaurants and hotels (2.70%), with restaurant menus, private university and primary tuitions, papaya, and bus/microbus fares among the top upward drivers.
