Overview
- Utilities have an active, multi-day maintenance program that will pause water and electricity service across many Lima districts with interruptions continuing into July 8 and 9.
- Sedapal published granular timetables by district and neighborhood for operations such as reservoir cleaning, pipe empalements and network repairs, and some sectors may lose water for as long as nearly 16 hours.
- Pluz Energía Perú released its own schedule of planned power outages for early July and urged users to unplug refrigerators, TVs, modems and other devices to prevent damage when service returns.
- Sedapal has deployed water tankers to strategic points, provided the Aquafono hotline (01) 317-8000 for inquiries, and repeatedly advised residents to store potable water and close valves before service is restored.
- Residents and small businesses are being told to check the utilities’ updated neighborhood-level timetables because the affected areas and maximum outage durations have changed across successive announcements and could disrupt daily routines and local services.
