Lima Azul’ Opens With Restored Urban Plans as Full Digital Archive Is Handed Over

The exhibition showcases the Margesí collection following PROLIMA’s conservation work to enable safe consultation of fragile blueprints.

Overview

  • The show runs from December 5, 2025, to January 31, 2026, Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Exhibition Hall of the Sociedad de Beneficencia in the Casa de las Divorciadas (Jirón Carabaya 641).
  • PROLIMA organized the exhibition in coordination with the Sociedad de Beneficencia to present a curated selection of historical plans from the Margesí.
  • At the inauguration, officials formalized the delivery of a hard drive containing the complete digitization of the Margesí to institutional custodians.
  • PROLIMA’s Archive and Documentation Center restored, cataloged, and digitized vulnerable documents so specialists can consult them without risking the originals.
  • Highlights include early 20th‑century blueprints or cyanotypes, with PROLIMA chief Luis Martín Bogdanovich noting that each plan is an irreplaceable piece of Lima’s urban memory.
