Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Will Offer Free New Game Plus Post-Launch

After backlash over paid DLC in the previous game, Sega confirms New Game Plus will return as free content in the upcoming release.

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that New Game Plus will be added to Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii as a free post-launch update.
The decision follows criticism of the previous title, Infinite Wealth, for locking New Game Plus behind a $20 DLC, which received overwhelmingly negative reviews.
The game introduces naval combat with customizable ships, including options for lasers, energy cannons, and unique crew members with upgradeable skills.
Players will control Goro Majima, exploring Hawaii and engaging in over-the-top combat with two fighting styles: Mad Dog and the pirate-themed Sea Dog.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set to release on February 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
