Ligue 1+ Tops 600,000 Subscribers After Opening Matchday

After ending its deal with DAZN, the league shifted to self-distribution with a goal of 1 million subscribers this season.

Le chiffre englobe les abonnements pris directement sur la plateforme Ligue 1+, et ceux souscrits via Amazon, DAZN et les principaux opérateurs.

Overview

  • The count includes direct sign-ups as well as subscriptions via Amazon, DAZN and the four main French operators Free, SFR, Bouygues and Orange, according to LFP Media.
  • A free NantesPSG broadcast drew about 400,000 registrations, with at least 200,000 viewers watching live exclusively on the platform.
  • Launch pricing is set at €9.99 per month for the first three months before rising to €14.99.
  • LFP Media now carries eight of the nine matches each round, with the remaining fixture on beIN Sports.
  • Executives touted a smooth technical and editorial debut and said early uptake supports anti-piracy efforts, while setting longer-term goals of 2.2–2.5 million subscribers over four seasons and noting DAZN ended last season near 650,000.
