Lightning Strike Kills 14 During Church Service in Ugandan Refugee Camp

The tragic incident at Palabek camp injured 34 others as heavy rains swept through the region.

The lightning strike occurred in the Palabek refugee camp in northern Uganda's Lamwo district on Saturday.
All 14 victims were attending a prayer service in a makeshift metallic church structure when the strike happened.
The deceased include mostly children and teenagers, with victims aged between 9 and 18 years old.
The camp is home to approximately 80,000 people, primarily refugees from South Sudan fleeing ongoing instability.
